María Belén Villán - B2 Anglès (1r premi)

A new app.

Yesterday I grabbed my phone as fast as I opened my eyes. She texted me, the last message was very similar to the other 29, soulless.Never mind, I started on my way to school.

A typical morning, the teacher was struggling with my classmates. They were too hooked on the screens. I understand them. I struggle with that too.

I returned home and my phone rang. It was her, for the first time in a month, in a video call. I felt my heart stop beating.

—Hello my sweetie.  —She used to call me that—. I bristled, the blood that was running through my veins froze. That was her voice and her face.

—Hi...mum…— I could hardly breathe; after that, not even a sound came out of my mouth.

—How is it going there? Your studies? Love?

—¡Hey! I know this is a little bit weird, my baby, I miss you so much, it would be difficult but time is the best ally on this path. Mom will always be with you in the future.

I hung up and uninstalled the app.

—Yes mom, you will always be with me, but not like this.
