 The Light in the Blackout

In a skyscraper with smart locks, inhabitants lived in polished isolation. Never had the residents experienced such profound loneliness, dreaming of a future where automation would solve every human friction. They shared the same lift daily, yet stared at their shoes, avoiding a simple "hello."

One evening, a power outage trapped four neighbors in the mirrored cabin. Panic rippled through them as they checked their devices, only to find that darkness had swallowed their precious signal. Trapped in an ominous reality, they began to talk, discovering shared passions for sitcoms and games.

Only when the lights flickered back did they finally feel free again. Their screens looked the same, but the world felt different. Instead of retreating to their digital shells, that night, they stayed together, sharing hobbies they had jealously guarded. They realized that the future was not behind a touch-screen; it was the simple and kind gesture of recognizing the soul standing right beside you.
