The Arrival
They arrived at night and were tired because the journey was quite long. He stroked his dog, who was lying next to him with its head resting on his feet, like it used to do. His beloved dog had always been by his side and had given him so much. Dau was getting old, but there was still a look of tenderness and kindness in its eyes.
She was waiting for them with her heart full of joy. He felt a deep excitement when he glanced her through the train window. Dau was the first to get off the coach and ran towards her, even though the station was crowded. It had been so long since they had to separate.
It was not easy for both of them. She struggled hard to live alone and he, living in a foreign country, had to study a new language and learn to get by in whatever job he could find.
Later, in that now empty station, they gave thanks for this new life that lay before them and expressed a hopeful thought: 'No matter what the future brings to us, we'll get through it together.'
