The Curse
When the Sun eclipsed I felt cold in my bones although on 12th August it was hot: it was an omen. Meanwhile, spectators were clapping on the cliffs and on the cruisers' decks. Then, engines were lit to return home expelling tons of fumes.
Afterward, the show went on in Antarctica when gigantic icebergs detached from the icefield. Some years later, great businessmen toasted new trade routes along Greenland’s coast and rising profits.
Then overheated seas became beasts hammering docks, devouring beaches and stretching out their eager tongues to engulf houses.
Water made powerful clouds that unleashed heavy rainfall more frequently than ever.
Flooding ruined the inlands sweeping away fertile soil, crops were rotten and only left
barren clay. So, people had to migrate to seek food and shelter.
We know the Earth’s Lords had safe homes built to live in this sad future.
Thus, I invoke this reddened full moon and curse them with double toil and trouble as wretched mankind bears today!
